Co-operative (co-op) Education Terms

Co-operative education at PrasMul allows students to:
  1. gain up to one year of relevant work experience by integrating academic studies with work experience.
  2. work during academic terms alternating with study/work sequences (2 half-terms and 2 full-terms).
  3. be involved in productive work rather than just observing.
  4. receive some form of remuneration for the work.
  5. have their co-op progress monitored by Co-operative Education Office.
  6. have their performance evaluated by the employer.
  7. gain a total amount of co-op experience of 25% of the time spent in academic study, with an aim to graduate in four years.

  1. What is the difference between internship and co-op?

    If a student joins the co-op program, they will work on projects according to their fields as an employee should, receive remuneration, can work at the same company multiple times, and is done in four rotations during their studies. 

  2. What are the companies/industries that have collaborated with co-op? To what extent is the form of collaboration?

    To this date, the industries that have collaborated with Prasetiya Mulya’s co-op program range from insurance, banking, financial consultation, and many more. The type of cooperation is sustainable and can be repeated. 

  3. What are the sectors that are offered for co-op students?

    The sectors that are suitable for co-op students are: actuary, business development, underwriting, pricing, data science, marketing, finance, sales, and so on.

  4. How do I join the co-op program?

    It is simple. Contact coop@prasetiyamulya.ac.id, and the companies will give a link to job openings that are available for co-op students. Then, the student should respond to the offering so the company can continue the selection process through interview, if necessary. After the company has made its decision, the co-op period can begin.

  5. What is the amount of remuneration that should be given by the company?

    The remuneration that is given to co-op students is adjusted to the policies of each company. However, remuneration is obligatory.

  6. Can the company recruit co-op students to become permanent employees?

    Yes. During the midterm and end term, the supervisor must fill out a short evaluation of the student’s performance. The evaluation procedure will be given by the Co-op Prasetiya Muya office approaching evaluation term.

  7. Can the company recruit co-op students to become permanent employees?

    We recommend co-op students to finish their studies to receive their degrees first. After graduating, the companies are more than welcome to recruit the students.
