This lab has a Scanning Electro Microscope (SEM) coupled with Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX) to provide high-resolution images of surface topography and elemental analysis of various materials on a nanoscale

Equipment Usability

  • Scanning Electron MicroscopyScanning electron microscopy (SEM) gives information of the microstructure of coated surface, distribution of photocatalyst on the substrate surface, homogeneity, and morphology of particles in the coating.
  • Sputter CoaterSputter coating is a physical vapor deposition process used to apply a very thin, functional coating on a substrate
  • Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)An uninterruptible power supply (UPS), also known as a battery backup, provides backup power when your regular power source fails or voltage drops to an unacceptable level. A UPS allows for the safe, orderly shutdown of a computer and connected equipment.
